For more information on APA, MLA, and other citations styles, try the following:
- Google search for APA Citation Style (lots of guides and examples)
- Google search for MLA Citation Style (more guides and examples)
- A good guide and list of citation styles from McGill University
- Another good guide and list of citation styles, from Syracuse University
(Don’t forget that many of our databases have citation guides, sometimes at the bottom of the article page, sometimes via a link, and sometimes in the help sections. They generally cover APA and MLA as the most commonly used citation styles.)
Hi, I love your online toolkit! I’m a teacher who now uses Landmark Citation Machine to with my English students. Do you have any idea why, when I click on your link above, I get a “403 forbidden error”?
It looks like they just did a big overhaul of the site: you now pick MLA or APA before you enter the data, and it looks like they have some new servers. You probaby caught them in the middle of the switch, since the link worked for me today. Thanks for reading, and stay tuned, I’ve got a whole bunch of new services to review.
There are several other choices you’ve not mentioned:
1. NoodleBib Express: Individual MLA or APA citations. All citation types from NoodleBib 6 available. No login required.
2. NoodleBib 6: Falls in between a free citation generator and a complicated software application for academic experts. It’s comprehensive and accurate – has both MLA and APA-style – and is being used from middle/high school through graduate-level research.
Ooooh, new tools! Thank you, I hadn’t run across NoodleBib yet and I will check them out. I am not trying to provide a “best of” sort of toolkit…in part because there is something new all the time. I have a bunch of new entries to make.
